RWBY: Warriors of Vale Chapter 3: Art of Deception

As Shaula finished off another soldier with her bullet, a flicker of light crossed the corner of her eye, only to see Orajeo appear and block whatever was coming at her, but she didn't mutter a word; she pulled out one of her cards.

"Fuck you..." Shaula channeled her anger, taking out more cards until she had ten. As she did, each one glowed a bright red before she threw all of them in a scattered direction. One of them managed to connect with the tree the sniper was hiding behind, and in an instant the tree, for lack of a better description, exploded along with the ground and trees around and behind the soldiers as each card connected. The forest would now be ablaze and it was spreading quickly.

"Sure thing love." Torch puts both hand on the VIP SHOULDER."don't worry mate, this will be easy."

Most of the White Fang around Oreajo began to run away as they valued their life much more than dying. All except one however. The commander steps back slowly, holding his dual shotguns with shaking hands. "I-I will kill you motherfucker!" he says, rushing him with both lever action shoguns blazing as he get support fire from the snipers.

The Paladin approached Brady and swiftly threw a punch at him, while a missile shoots from it's other hand at Quaid. The main machine guns were destroyed, but it still had a massive armory to be utilized.

Blaze nods. "Alright lets go. Keep your head down" she says, moving down a path to the right of the fighting.

"Oh, my a wild fire that I didn't even start."Torch tale a bandana from his wrist and and wrapes it around his nose, he does the same thing with his other bandana to the VIP. "Easy."

The commander saw the slash coming so he changed his left gun into sword form, his stride taking his right foot forward, bent slightly as he continued forward. He swept his sword in front of him, tip angle downward to parry the strike. At the same time the commander pointed his other shotgun Orajeo's, anticipating the parry to throw him off long enough to riposte.


The Paladin swung a hammer fist strike at Brady when he attempted to slash at it's arms. At the same time it fired a guided missile into the air that curved and headed directly for Quaid.

The flat of the commanders sword slapped against Orajeo's leg. Reacting purely on instinct to Orajeo's now chest level slash he threw himself backwards, his sword being guided up Orajeo's leg as he fell back. Having lost his balance in his desperate effort to avoid the slash his arms flailed wildly and he let off a blast from his shotgun in Orajeo's general direction. With the commander out of the way the snipers fired again.

Scrambling to his feet the commander gritted his teeth and fired at Orageo with both shotguns, alternating fire.


The guided missile fired by the Paladin curved to follow Quaid, breaking apart into a dozen smaller warheads that swarmed around the paladin itself, half of them going towards Quaid the rest zeroed in on Brady.

Shaula shifted her eyes from soldier to soldier, and took one quick glance at the others who were fighting the Paladin, but they quickly went back from soldier to soldier. She didn't exactly care too much about fighting a giant robot; there were still faunus in front of her, and that's all she cared about. With a kick off the ground, she leaped into the air as Unlucky 7 shifted back to its original form of cards, each of which Shaula threw like they were ninja stars aimed at each soldier's throat. With all of her years of training, if they didn't react fast enough, each card would hit their mark with astonishing accuracy, and after they were thrown, she would land upon her feet but would quickly begin running around so as to continuously dodge the incoming shots from the back lines.

The pebble hit the commander in the throat, his body dropping like a sack of bricks. The snipers seeing their commander go down took a few more shots then took off, not wanting to be in the same position.



The missiles struck the paladin, but before the smoke and fire cleared the paladin came charging out completely unscathed. It steamrolled towards Quaid, its double barreled guns firing.

Quaid slid under the Paladin's legs once again before summoning a small metal spire which hit his feet at the perfect angle to vault him onto the Paladin's back. "Tch..." He winced. The Ultra Block had taken a lot out of him, but he wasn't down yet. The pure essence of the epic battle against the mech was giving him even more strength than he had lost. He knew he would eventually pass out from exhaustion, impact or even both, but for the time being he was up and running.
"Brady, hold this thing down." He spoke in a rushed manner, as if he wasn't sure his idea would work, but it was worth trying.

Shaula looked over, as the soldiers burned within the flames, at the Paladin. Drawing two of her cards from her sleeve, she made sure to keep her distance and threw the two cards to the ground beneath it. Upon landing, the cards began to blink three different colors--blue, red, and yellow before eventually landing on yellow. As they did so, they detonated as EMPs beneath the Paladin in an attempt to freeze or shut down the mech.

Shaula's EMP blast did nothing to the Paladin as it had been built for combat and thus, the use of EMP's in military situations had been foreseen and accounted for. When Brady struck the Paladins legs simply bet slightly, the hydraulics absorbing the force, the feet evenly dispersing the weight and added for from the blow to prevent it sinking into the ground.

The Paladin vented heat out of a port on back, not a structural weak point but a countermeasure to attempted boarding. Aiming at both Brady and Shaula the paladin open fired with its secondary auto-cannons.
